In honor of Valentine’s Day, el Pedregal at The Boulders is hosting two live musical events. On Saturday, February 13, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. enjoy live music by strolling violinists Jim Apperson and Mike Prokes. Members of the Apperson String Group, Apperson and Prokes will perform holiday love songs while you stroll throughout the marketplace.

On Sunday, February 14, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. harpist, Adrienne Bridgewater will perform in the outdoor amphitheatre. Bridgewater, a professional harpist for more than 20 years utilizes her lyric voice and beautiful sound and appearance of the golden harp to perform a variety of classical and contemporary music for special occasions.

Mineral & Fossil Gallery and Barbara’s Boutique are celebrating the Valentine’s Day holiday with two events in February.

Mineral and Fossil Gallery introduces a new “wearable art” trunk show January 9 through February 14 by artist, Amy Kahn Russell. Amy transforms an exotic blend of cultural heritages and nature’s beauty into contemporary, hand crafted jewelry design seen on notable Hollywood personalities including Madonna, Halle Berry and designer, Mary McFadden in addition to appearing on movie screens and photo shoots for Vogue, Essence, Mirabella, Glamour and Revlon. 

Amy Kahn Russell is a forerunner in a naturalistic trend in jewelry. A fine arts graduate of Tulane, the artist’s personal studies and experience often influence her designs, reflecting on visions from museums or images seen during her extensive travels.

Transcending seasons and time, the new distinctive pieces incorporate sterling silver, gold, natural minerals, pearls, fossils, and semi-precious stones on pins doubling as pendants, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings.
